Writing your Own Exam Questions

by Thomas Rimmer,

Having students write their own questions has been a great way to show understanding of the topic, as well as what is expected of them in the exam.
I have been using this practice activity with my Year 9 class. This is a really good way of putting the students into the mind of the examiner. Having to write the mark scheme requires the students to call on higher level understanding.
I then marked and checked each exam question before handing them back to the students as a revision resource!
