Virtual Reality in Science

This week in Science – something a little different!
The students of 11DM5 explored the Human body in virtual reality.

The trip started with a big deep breath in through the nose and followed the path of a red blood cell at its many drop off points around the body.

The students were armed with one tub of sculpting material and had to create as they watched. Once they had finished the trip in VR, they had to take their creations back to their places and note down all the information they had understood about that particular cell/organ or tissue.

From this exercise, the students involved were able to detail the specifics regarding what they had just been immersed into. This was a great step into making science memorable and enjoyable.
