Send My Friend To School Campaign in PSHE

The Send My Friend to School campaign brings together thousands of children across the UK to speak up for the right to education, and remind world leaders of their promise that all children should get the chance to go to school.

58 million children are still missing out on school. At the current rate of progress, it will be 2086 by the time every child is in school. Students across Hodgson joined the Send My Friend to School campaign in their PSHE lessons and became part of something really huge! More than 18 million people in 100 countries have taken part in these campaigning activities.

Students were told given background information about the campaign and the driving force behind it, the NEED for education. They were then asked to imagine THEY were the world leaders and to think about what THEY would you do to get all children into school.

Students then created their own individual 2D world leaders, and wrote “if I were a world leader…” messages on them.
Participating in this campaign has allowed students to become active citizens, not just locally, but globally!
