Wallpaper activity on the corridor. |
Innovative Starter for ANY topic.
Writing to persuade was the focus of this Year 7 lesson that Mrs Tingey's class participated in. Needless to say, she didn't keep the students in the classroom, but got them out on the corridor, not only to begin the lesson, but also to end the lesson. Asking the students to write everything they know on the wallpaper about a topic at the start of the lesson, creates a great, easy but exciting plenary at the end.
How?
Just roll out the wallpaper again, and write what has been learned in the lesson - but in a different coloured pen! This is a great revision tool for GCSE lessons - in particular now we're on the countdown to the end! The students really feel a sense of self-belief and progress when they can physically see for themselves just how much more they know at the end of a topic, a half term, a series of lessons or just an hour.
