Thinking Dice

By R. Burnett, teacher of Geography

Teaching mixed ability classes presents a challenge in differentiating. That is why the Thinking Dice are a brilliant and easy resource to differentiate in lessons, as it facilitates higher questioning in lessons and follows the layers used in Blooms Taxonomy.

The different types of dice are brilliant to give to either higher and lower ability students, based upon the thinking skill most appropriate for your students - so differentiation is in your teaching and learning immediately!

They are an excellent  group work activity and are fantastic for plenaries and starters.

They have also helped me to differentiate in my planning, as I have used the dice to help me structure questions on my power points.
