By K. Parr, Lead Teacher of Geography
Creativity in Geography !
Last week, the Geography department saw the Top set Year 8's completing a number of different tasks in order to reach the same aim- to be able to describe the formation of a stack.
The students had a choice of a number of tasks and as you can see by the panoramic view of the classroom, I7 was buzzing with life and dynamic learning!
All students were on task, with each taking pride in their work. They chose to either explain the formation on:
a window pane
a table
a whiteboard
a chalk board
or in their books.
The students got to choose the task they wanted to do, however Ms Parr circled at the start to challenge each student as to whether they had fully pushed themselves with the task they had chosen. They were then challenged to answer a GCSE style question at the end, checking if they were able to get all the key terms and structure in or were still they missing stages out.
A brilliant lesson which students who behaved outstandingly! Well done 8R!
