An idea for introducing numeracy into lessons when it looks as difficult to do so:
When giving students a number, e.g.:
"Turn to page 90."
Give the instruction as a calculation, e.g.
"Turn to page 8x8 plus 6x4 +2."
The first student to work it out and turn to the correct page wins a plus point. A great way to get students thinking and engaged!
