As an ice-breaker for my Year 6 Art lesson today, students wrote down all the art related activities they had done at their primary school.
They could write down artists they have looked at, art movements, methods they have learnt or the different materials they have used.
Someone from each primary (bravely) read out what they had done. This led to some really interesting discussions and allowed the students to find common ground before they start in September.
It was also very useful for me and added another dimension to our knowledge of KS2 Art.
