Inktober

by Julie Duggan,
Teacher of Art

This month is Inktober - no nothing to do with tattooing students!!
In Art we are using the prompts for starters in our lessons, or stARTers!

Using the relevant date on the list, the students have 5 minutes to come up with a drawing that fits the word. Today was 'long'.

I made a point of not giving any clues or suggestions and I told them not to discuss it, there are no right or wrong drawings and they didn't have to show their work at the end.

It was a good way of getting students thinking and 'warming them up' before their main drawing task. This stARTer (I just wanted to say that again!) will be used with all year groups and students will be encouraged to use the Inktober website for future inspiration.
