Across Geography, we are revamping the homework curriculum to make the students more independent and more creative. For Year 7, we have adapted a takeaway homework taken from Twitter.
This takeaway homework is much shorter than the traditional takeaway home works. This homework is much more generic and only says- 'in this topic'. This gives the students the chance to choose any topic that they want and therefore will create a wider breadth of tasks.
Students must choose one of the tasks from each course and throughout the term complete it. The further down the task - the harder the task. With strong relationships with the students, you can make sure that you push the students to do the tasks that challenge themselves.
The students get a 6 week half term term in which to complete the homework, with specific dates set to complete each course. We also put all resources on schoology to ensure that if this is lost or misplaced- that the students have access to them at all times.
