Student desks in my classroom are all equipped with 2
whiteboards and a pen pot which contains 2 whiteboard pens, a whiteboard
rubber, a glue stick and 2 purple pens. Students have easy access to resources
which are used frequently in lessons, meaning lesson time is no longer wasted
giving out equipment. The pen pots are a great teaching tool and I wish I had
introduced them years ago!
- Students always have access to glue so there is no excuse for disorganised exercise books containing loose sheets!

Organising is what you do before you do something, so that
when you do it, it is not all mixed up. (A.A.Milne)

-
Whiteboards help to build resilience. Students who are not confident to attempt
a challenging question in their book often reach for their whiteboards independently,
attempting questions on here first.
- Whiteboards are a great assessment for learning tool, at
any point in the lesson I can ask students to 'show me your answer to......on
your whiteboard'. - Students always have access to glue so there is no excuse for disorganised exercise books containing loose sheets!
- Students fluently reflect on their learning marking their
work (or their neighbours work) in purple pen
