Artefacts fascinate. Artefacts engage. Artefacts Teach.

Year 8 use the 5 K's artefacts in Sikhism to improve their knowledge and understanding of the religion.

Artefacts are an important teaching tool in the RE classroom. Using these objects in our classroom helps students develop important intellectual skills. When one places an artefact in front of students, they are immediately engaged them in higher order thinking. As they examine the object, they continue through the stages of critical thinking: analysis, discovery, identification, classification, and interpretation. As they work through this intellectual exercise, they naturally form learning groups, share information and develop leadership and communications skills.
