One of the ways in which I ask my classes to show their understanding of new knowledge is to transform it into a different format. This has the added benefit of bringing in skills from other subject areas. It also allows students to develop knowledge using their independence.

- Written information into a graph: this allows students to develop numeracy skills.
- Written information into diagrams: this allows students to practise literacy skills.
