A classic
ice-breaker for revision!
Students were
given the task of revising all units covered throughout the year so far, for
their End of Year Exam. The following lesson students completed the activity,
as pictured.
Each statement
is a key concept from every unit that they were asked to revise. Students were
given ten minutes to move around the room finding someone that could provide
them with a correct answer to each statement. To make it a little more
challenging, students were only allowed to ask the same person for an answer
once. This encouraged active, engaging discussion between students, and
students reported that they had learned something they hadn’t revised, from
their peers.
This could be used to determine prior knowledge at
the start of a new unit, or to test knowledge gained at the end.
