In science, we are always looking at how to improve the way
students prepare for exams. While every student has their own way of learning
and revising, revision tools can be a valuable resource to aid pupils
with their revision.
Below are examples of concept maps and index cards my Year 10
students have produced for Quantitative chemistry. Visual tools such as concept
maps are a means of graphically representing ideas, conceptualising relationships
and progression paths. It is a great way for students to memories equations
and link different areas of the topic together.
Flash cards are then a way for students to summarise the
information from the concept maps into a few key words or equations (great
example in picture 4).
