Variations on a Theme: Modelling in Science

by Alanna McRoberts,
Teacher of Science

Modelling can be used in different way to differentiate activities for different abilities.

To show students understand a topic they can model it in a different way to explain. This could be as a role play, in a diagram or  physical model.
This can then be extended to get the students to add more detail or justify their model.

Now to challenge students even further they can evaluate a model and make improvements or identify the limitations.
