As we know, the new GCSE specification has brought lots of challenges for students and teachers alike. Years 7 and 8 have become crucial in providing a good foundation for knowledge and skills in later years.
During KS3, we aim to give the pupils the tools to enable them to enter KS4 prepared for the rigours of GCSE examination questions.
One method is by teaching them the mechanics of answering GCSE questions so that they can then concentrate on their knowledge skills.
Year 7 pupils are given this "How to" sheet to stick in the back of their books which is also used as a guide with self and peer assessment.
Year 8 are given the same guide sheet using more advanced language and all sheets are differentiated to meet individual students needs.
