Using Music in R.E.

by Mr Woods,
Student Teacher of R.E.

Twinkle, twinkle little star…
How I wonder what you are!
… A good friend, maybe?!

Year 7 students are currently studying the Sex and Relationship Education unit in PSHE. As part of this unit, a variety of creative activities have been used to help engage all students and help them fully understand all areas of the Scheme of Work. On this particular lesson, students were taught about ‘what makes a good friend’, looking at the characteristics of their friends, and reflecting on their own personal attributes to see how they could improve their own actions to build friendships. Students were then given the task of working in small groups to create a nursery rhyme about friendship using key words. The students even had a go at using instruments to enhance their performance; what a fun lesson!
