One of the challenges in the new English Literature specification is how to help students memorise quotations needed for exams. I have been using a Quotation relay to see how many quotations students can recall from their literature texts.
I get the students into two teams and they are given three minutes to write as many quotations as they can on their team sheet. They only have 1 pen and have to pass it like a relay baton to their next team member. No repetition is allowed!
It's quite interesting to keep their first attempts to refer back to and see progress they've made after repeated games.
