We have been using Seneca, an interactive revision platform, for the last couple of years in Geography. We switched to Seneca from other
platforms based on positive feedback from other teachers nationwide.
We created
a Seneca timetable with our Year 11’s as a revision tool, to allow students to
revise using Seneca each week. Using the timetable meant that our Year 11
students had revised the whole Geography Specification by the end of Year 11.
We have found Seneca really easy to use and allows us to monitor students' activities each week. We can look at how much time they are spending on each
revision activity and what score they got in each activity. This has been very
useful for our planning and giving bespoke revision areas to focus on.
The
students seem to prefer Seneca from other revision platforms, some of my students
have said that ‘it iseasier to use,' they 'like the way it is set out' and that the
resources are 'up to date and colourful’. Our students have engaged with the
Seneca activities and it has not only helped to embed basic knowledge but
helped students with geographic skills required in the GCSE exam. Overall, we
find Seneca an effective revision tool and very easy to use.
