Why not get involved in extra-curricular activities?

The PE and Sport Enrichment Programme is in full swing and it is fantastic to see so many of our students engaging with the wide range of activities on offer. We have students representing the school from all year groups in a variety of sports, while also hosting training sessions and offering new sporting activities during lunch and after school. However, whilst the Physical Education department run lots of these activities, it is fantastic to see so many other staff members get involved with our enrichment programme.

Since the academic year has begun, we have had TEN staff members throw them selves into the extra-curricular time table, running their own sessions on whatever activity they want. This is a fantastic way to build relationships with the students, learn new teaching skills and add to the Hodgson experience. It is also fantastic for our students to see these staff members outside the classroom.

Don’t take my word for it! Here are some quotes from staff members who already involved in the enrichment programme.

"As a teacher of English, some students have a particular perception of you! It has been fabulous to develop my relationship with existing students and to meet new students - we have fun, laughter and make lots of noise! It's ace." A. Burrell
